Marriott Discount Codes

One of the best ways to leverage your credit and points earned is with travel, and the hotel company Marriott has more options for fabulous stays that you can take advantage of to make your travel experience even better. 

Bonvoy Discount Codes

This specific travel hacking deals with the Marriott Bonvoy discount codes. These are deals that are available worldwide, and they can save you hundreds of dollars per night using some of these code options. I recently got a room with an 83% discount using this exact strategy. Rather than paying $1,000 for the night staying at a Ritz Carlton, we were charged only $170!!!!

These codes are specifically intended for employees and their spouses, but I will go through the whole list of codes for you and show you some special ways that you can take full advantage of these offers through some travel hacking techniques.  

The 5 Discount Codes

• MMM

• MMF

• MMB around 20% off

• MMP (must have an explore authorization form, Reach out if you need one)

• MM4 (the best code)

The Hack

You will start at the Marriott.com website.

Don’t enter any information into the location tab but instead click on “Find Hotels.”

You  will have a screen that opens up and looks like this:

Click on the lower-left dropdown that has the “Special Rates.” And you will choose “Corporate / Promo / Set#”

You can then add in one of the five promo codes above.  

Afterward, you will then get the prices for the available hotels in the city or town you are looking for.  

Here is an example of the prices that you can find with the MM4 discount code.

Doing exactly the same search but without a promo code, you would find the following prices:

The same room at the US Grant hotel goes from $450 down to $139, a nearly 70% discount.  

The TownePlace Suites goes from $303 down to $45, an 85% discount

And the Sheraton San Diego goes from $293 down to $69, a 76% discount

Each of the codes will have a different price attached to them, and you can even use your points to buy the hotel stays, giving you free nights for huge discount savings.

Once you use a code for booking, there are generally more beneficial perks once you arrive at the hotel; however, some of the codes are minimal discounts, while most are huge discounts like the examples above, others may show “unavailable” or not give a discount at all.

The more significant the discount, the more challenging the requirements

Though the MM4 discount code is the best, it does come with specific restrictions that you must be aware of. After you choose a hotel you will want to click “view rates.”

And then you will click rate details…..

A screen will pop up with specific information about how you can get this rate. You may not be eligible, so check these carefully……

You can see that in the above conditions on the third line on, it says that it is “available to associates.”  And you have to be a family member. There is also a limit to the number of rooms that can be booked 

But most importantly for our needs, further down it states the following…. - At check-in, eligible guests must present Explore Rate Authorization Form or Quarter Century Club Card.

The Explore Rate Authorization Form

The last choice from the highlight is the Explore Rate Authorization Form. This is a form that a Marriott employee is provided every year, and it can be given to family members so that they can take advantage of the maximum discounts. There are staff members that are selling these forms that you can take advantage of and it does not break the terms and conditions.  

If you have a relationship with a Marriott employee, you can potentially obtain one of these forms from them with or without needing to provide them with compensation. If you know someone working there, you can educate them on the process and how they could benefit.  

A good way to start the discussion is by asking “what do you typically do with your explore rate forms?  If you are not selling them or providing them to your family members, we could make this a win-win situation.” From there, it is up to you how best to move forward so that you both mutually benefit.  

Pro Tip- I have heard of people within my network who have told me they have sold their forms for between $1500 and $4,500. 

The forms do have to be updated quarterly and so they will generally have a life of between a few months and a maximum of a year.  

If you can obtain a form, you will undoubtedly benefit from the significant 70% or more discount stays.
