Creating Custom Domains for Your LLC

In order to have the best access to business credit, it is essential to present your business in a professional way. This is the reason that creating a foundation for business credit is critical.  

As far as getting a domain name registered, you have probably heard of Godaddy.com. They are the 800-pound gorilla of the domain registration industry. However, you may not have heard of their competitor www.namecheap.com.

I am all for promoting a business that provides a great product as Godaddy does. However, namecheap has domains for sale for $5.98 a year and discounts for multiple-year bundles. Using the promotion at the following link. https://www.namecheap.com/promos/new-com-promo/

Most other providers are more expensive, including GoDaddy, around $12/year. Godaddy has a promotion of $2.99 for the first year, but then it pops to $19.99.

Occasionally you can find even better deals with Namecheap, like a deal of $0.98 for the first year…

Purchasing an unregistered new domain is simple. 

From the page above you can copy the promo code and then fill in the desired domain name. 

If you choose a name that is available, then you will be taken to the screen below….

Notice that below the red “confirm order,” there is an area to paste your promo code. Sometimes a code will be included automatically, and sometimes it is not, so confirm before you go through with your purchase. Be aware that sometimes you will have to start a new account to utilize some of the promo codes (ones that are for new customers).

When you click “confirm order,” if you have not already set up an account, you will be taken to a new account set up screen that looks like this.  

Next, you will fill in the personal information for the site.

You will just have to then put in your information and pay, and you are set. 

I can tell you from experience that the service that Namecheap provides is as good as or better than Godaddy. I had to contact them when I was having a problem setting up the new domain’s email on my phone, and they solved this issue in just two minutes. However, I believe that the google workspace email service is even better.  

Namecheap’s hosting services are very reasonable as well. But you can build and host a site for FREE on google sites (https://sites.google.com/).

In an apples-to-apples comparison, you would pay $5.99/month for site hosting with GoDaddy…….
